On behalf of Members of Council and the City of Mississauga, I want to congratulate The Academy for the launch of the Erindale Youth AI Innovation Incubator and the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the historic Taylor–Froebel House.
The Youth AI Innovation Incubator is enjoying a promising start and has great partners with ENCORE Lab at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, the University of Toronto, and ICUBE at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
This Incubator will undoubtedly assist young people seeking to turn the seed of ideas into meaningful, real-world projects. The Academy – through its continued excellence – is connecting students, educators, entrepreneurs, community leaders. Our city and country are made stronger by initiatives like this that contribute to the spirit of advanced learning and entrepreneurship. Efforts like this have made Mississauga an economic marvel.
As a former teacher and City Councillor deeply engaged with youth issues, I regard this initiative as encouraging and critical. Higher education, technological capabilities, and an embracing of emerging technologies will chart and accelerate our path forward. Especially for young people.
